Horse Boarding and Retirement

Beaver Meadow Farm - Vermont

Located in the Green Mountains of Vermont - we are a 170 acre retirement farm providing large pastures for small groups of horses to roam freely in their golden years.

For the past twenty years  owner, Ludy Biddle and her dedicated team have provided a healthy, safe and comfortable environment for up to 15 retired horses at a time.

‍What we Offer

Our farm provides a peaceful home for retired horses, where their well-being is our highest priority. We believe that older horses deserve the same care, dignity, and affection they have given us throughout their lives. Here, they can enjoy a slower pace, familiar routines, fresh air, and attentive, individualized care in a beautiful farm setting.

From daily feedings and seasonal grooming to routine veterinary visits, emergency medical care, and regular farrier appointments, we take pride in attending to each horse’s needs. We understand that every horse is different, and we work hard to ensure each one receives the attention, comfort, and care they need to thrive.

Our mission is simple: to give retired horses a wonderful quality of life, surrounded by kindness, patience, and the comforts of home. Their years of service, companionship, and loyalty deserve nothing less.

“Every horse owner wants to sleep at night knowing they’ve provided the best living arrangements for their horse. As a horse doctor for 40 years I can say sending your horse to Ludy’s will provide a quality of life and the freedom to be a horse that few horses ever get to experience.
I’m serious when I say these things; years ago I told Ludy that if I expired suddenly and found myself reincarnated as a horse, that I would want to return to Ludy’s to live out my years in sight of those Vermont mountains and green pastures, with of course, a small herd of horses to be my friends.”
