Why Choose Beaver Meadow Farm?

Beaver Meadow Farm provides field board for a limited number of horses.

  • Summers: horses are on 100 acres of grass pastures with streams running through, large shelters and woodlands for shade

  • Winters: horses have shelter, automatic warm waterers, grain and constant hay

  • Older horses are offered supplemental feed if needed

  • If an elder horse dies of old age while with us, we provide a dignified burial in the place where he or she was recently grazing with companions.

  • Board includes worming, basic shots and trims

  • Routine dental checks, deworming, and spring vaccinations as needed, including rabies, tetanus, and Eastern equine encephalitis (EEE) Are included in board fee.

  • Owners are responsible for the cost of any additional veterinary visits, calls, or emergency care. In the event of an emergency, we will make every effort to contact the owner promptly. However, if the horse requires immediate attention, we will contact a veterinarian without delay to ensure the horse receives the necessary care.

Snow-covered farm with a barn, trees, and a winding road in a rural landscape under a partly cloudy sky.

  • Vermont’s cool summers make for a comfortable retirement environment. Winter in Vermont, by contrast, is a piece of cake for horses because they are naturally adapted to cold weather.  Remember, horses suffer in heat, not cold.

  • We use rotational grazing techniques to maintain fresh pasture growth. Clean, deep grass pastures provide room to graze and enjoy the outdoors.

  • Our 170 acres in Vermont’s rolling hills offer a peaceful setting for horses to stretch their legs and explore.

  • We offer attentive and individualized care focused on your horse’s comfort and well-being.

  • We’re a small farm, only taking up to 15 horses at a time and offering a welcoming farm environment where horses can enjoy their well-earned retirement years.

  • You are supporting a local farm in business  since 1800! (Fun Fact…We are on the Crown Point Road built in 1759 to bring supplies to British and colonial soldiers in the fight with the French over control of Lake Champlain.)

  • We arrange for worming, trimming and shoeing.

  • An equine vet is on call and 15 minutes away.

  • We offer affordable boarding rates.
